School Social Worker or School Counselor

    Northwest Special Education Cooperative is seeking a School Social Worker or School Counselor for placement at Northwest Academy, Elizabeth, working three days per week. The successful candidate will teach social and communication skills to students with disabilities; provide individual and small group therapy services as per IEPs; provide outreach services to families of students; participate on IEP teams for re-evaluations; be a liaison for families regarding information/community resources; assist with crisis, and provide leadership in initiatives and programs relevant to social services for all students.

    The qualified individual holds a Master's Degree in School Social Work or School Counseling, with a Professional Educators License (PEL). We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including mileage reimbursement.

    Secretary to the Director

    Northwest Special Education Cooperative is seeking a Secretary to the Director.

    Duties include:

    • compiling and submitting state reports

    • maintaining special education records and databases

    • completing aspects of payroll

    • processing retirement information

    • assisting administration with coordination and completion of cooperative activities

    A successful candidate’s qualifications include experience in efficient secretarial/clerical duties, office procedures, and computer skills (including typing, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing). An understanding of special education processes is desired but not required.
